This is for Gert, and anyone else who might find it useful.
Attached is a spreadsheet which enables you to specify the coil dimensions
and DC voltage. It then works out the turns, resistance, power etc. for
various wire gauges. It is in MS Excel 2000 format. I believe there is a
reader available free from the MS web site. That won?t let you change
anything but will give you an idea of the effect of different wire gauges.
If there is a better format, someone let me know and I will export a version
if I can. The spreadsheet currently uses British SWG gauges. I have a more
accurate AWG and SWG list which I plan to add. I anyone is interested let
me know and I will post it.
