Force calculations on magnetostatic problems...



Hi All,
I am pretty much a newbie to FEMM and
had only worked a bit with Quickfield before.

So I have now tried to design with FEMM a Permanent
Magnet Powered Motor design,
first with a linear motor example.

Now I have afew questions aboutthe force computation
output of FEMM:

1. It seems to matter, if you draw a box about a magnet
configuration, in which direction you draw this box
around it.

the line integral around it saying:
Force from Stress Tensor seems to be the only
valid computation of forces generated in a magnet
configuration ??

What means Stress Tensor in this configuration ?

It also variesa lot, depending og how many
meshes I use...
could this really be ?
Does the force vary in factor 10 to 100 of how many
mesh-pieces I use for the simulation ?

Or doI have to use the Block integral
withthe lorentz force output ??

But then it shows me just only a Zero force output.
THis can not be true.

SO what must be used ?
