When I first did this I used Corel capture to grab the view window, 
Photoshop (one of the free versions) to get the size right, Irfanview (very 
good freeware) to do batch file conversions to GIF format and then the old 
free Microsoft GIF animator to make the animations. The results were good 
but it was very time consuming to do. These days I can do the lot in Corel 
since I treated myself to Corel 10, and lua scripting makes it much easier 
to produce the images in the first place.
