No donation is necessary, and it would probably be a violation of the licensing terms under which Jonathan Shewchuk generously makes Triangle (the program that femm uses for creating meshes) freely available.

Instead, use the money to treat yourself to a book on the subject.  A wonderful undergraduate level book (i.e. more focus on intuitive feel and less focus on differential equations) is Plonus' Applied Electromagnetics.  This is a relatively old book (originally published in 1978), but I've recently noticed on Amazon that it is back in print. Plonus is relatively expensive, so if you wanted a less expensive but still interesting book, you could try Nasar's Electric Machines and Electromechanics. This book is actually part of the Schaum's Outlines series, but it's written by a highly respected teacher and researcher in the area of electric machines and only costs $12.76 US at Amazon.  It even says in the Preface that one objective of this book is to be "a primer for solo study of the field."
