Hi FEMM users,

How do I obtain the B^2 contour plots for one or more arbitrarily

I am still working my way through the tutorials and manual for the
software so please guide me gently...
The program doesn't currently support plotting B^2 contour or density plots.  It'll plot the level contours of vector potential (i.e. the paths along which flux flows), and you can do density plots of the magnitude of B (for AC problems, you can also plot current density).

Second, is there a way to export the numerical result to a textfile ?
There are a couple of ways.  If you simply want to get values from along a line into a text file, proceed just as if you are plotting values along a line to the screen.  In the dialog that lets you choose what values to plot, there is also a check-box that allows you to write the data to disk instead.

Using the Lua scripting, you can do other, more general, sorts of exporting of data.  There is an example of using scripting to field information taken on a regularly spaced grid to disk at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/femm/files/scripting/grid.zip
