I am teaching a class next semester on brushless permanent magnet motor design. I would love my students to use FEMM to look at flux plots in these motors. Does FEMM have native permanent magnet material capabilities? In other words can I enter the remanence and coercive force for a PM material and have FEMM do the right thing? Or do I have to use current sheets, etc. to "create" magnet material?
