Re: [FEMM] spiky flux plot 2

Aaron,

I wouldn't be surprised by a "spiky" flux plot but I suspect that it is made worse because the mesh is not fine enough in the air-gap. Try making a thin air-gap region with a much finer mesh. In addition, in the file you have sent there are no boundary conditions set so the solution will be wrong anyway. The easiest boundary would be to set A=0 around the outside segments, but because of the magnet arrangement I might be inclined to put an infinite boundary just outside the whole model.

Dear all,

I'm attempting to plot the armature flux of the machine which in the attached file 'zip0042.fem'.

I've created a Lua script file, 'flux.lua' which will finally save the flux data into 'fluxperstack.txt'

The resulting flux plot is shown in 'flux.tif'. It looks really spiky. Could anyone help me in eliminating these spikes please?

thanks.
