Re: [FEMM] [cogging torque problem???]
Dear everyone,
My name is Kang in South Korea. I designed a BLDC motor 5 days ago.
For the analysis of cogging torque , I am using FEMM and LUA.
In my process, there is a problem. Cogging result is unusual and very
spiky. I want to know its reason and solution.(Why???) Could any one
help me please?
I think that the cogging torque for the machine that you've drawn is
exactly zero. Any non-zero torque that you'd calculate for this machine
is essentially numerical "noise" whose amplitude is a function of the
mesh density (i.e. the resulting torque will be closer and closer to
zero as you specify a finer and finer mesh).
Dave.
