Hello Mike,
I also get the same force value in femm(a bit more larger than you got). I checked it in Ansys that found the result in document was calculated with a convergence tol 1e-3, which in FEMM, solver's default convergence tol is 1e-8.
So I resolved the model with a convergence tol 1e-8, the force I got was changed to -5.76N. There hardly to say which result is more accurate on this model.
