RE: [femm] script convention

Robin,
The postprocessor window hide outcome depends on the argument you use:
- using the "-window_hide" argument will cause the window to appear for
a split second;
- using the "-windowhide" argument will cause a tiny application window
with an "x" only to appear for a split second.

I prefer consistency in commands/arguments naming convention: by using
the underscore to separate words in commands/arguments no one has to
guess where one word ends and the next begins.

Subject:	RE: [femm] LUA pause command

You can always use _ALERT("Some random message") to pause lua execution.
This just generates a message box with 'some random message' as the
text,
and waits for an OK to be pressed before continuing.
(Note the _ALERT only does this on femm(pre/post) on other lua scripted
apps
_ALERT may be directed to stderr)

The windowhide command for the postprocessor is reasonably experimental.
On
my 'slow' computer the window dosn't appear first it just runs hidden.
As
David M has said before this sort of information is essential to
improving
femm and making it extremely reliable.

If I get let out of work this week !, I will have a look at these
commands,
to find out what has happened !

Best Regards

Robin Cornelius

No, there are no tricks to it, Jim!

I think that dr. David M. forgot to include this command in his
version. I have
noticed it, too. There are some other things missing as well. For
example the
add_contour() command does not display the contour line as it used to.
The
preprocessor argument "-windowhide" of the run_post() command works to
some
degree; the postprocessor window pops up any way, but hides immidietly.
The
same argument for preprocessor works as intended. I think, dr. David M.
has
already noticed these "undocumented features" and will include the
corrections
in the next release. I would like to encourage everyone to post theirs
observations about the femm program. This will help dr. DM a lot.

Does anyone know how to get X-Y Plots from the postprocessor?
Thanks,
Carl
