Re: [femm] torque calculation example

You must select the red line contour button on the left top
first then left click on each point defining the contour
clockwise starting on any point.
You must have just clicked on the contour line.

I?m sorry?but It didn?t work. I solved the problem, got the flux lines, but when I try to click on
the center contour line. It is not selected? What I did wrong?

Here is a simple 2-pole motor example.
Juan,
Here is a very simple example.
There are other ways, of course, but maybe
this is good enough?

No special boundary conditions are used.
The mesh is 0.02" between the rotor and stator
magnets. Units are inches.

Once simulated use FEMMVIEW then left click on
the center contour line between the rotor and
stator magnets going clockwise.
Then click on the integrate->torque
from stress tensor selection.

The gap is large to make it simple and so it
runs fast. I used version 3.2.

I hope this helps.

Hi Femm people

I'm wondering if anyone can send a simple torque example calculation.
I'm teaching an electromechanical energy conversion class and I'll be
very interested to show to my students the procedure to calculate
torque using FEMM with a simple example.

Thanks

Juan A.
