Hi Dave ,
I am an undergraduate student and I am currently
designing an Electro-magnetic bearing . Prof.Eric
Maslen has told me to go for your software. Though
I have downloaded your software, can you please tell
me how to design it on this.

There is an example of a radial magnetic bearing analyzed by the program at:
http://femm.berlios.de/brg/brg.html

Dr. Maslen also has a really great set of online lecture notes about magnetic bearing design and analysis. See:
http://www.people.virginia.edu/~ehm7s/MagneticBearings/ <http://www.people.virginia.edu/%7Eehm7s/MagneticBearings/>
(although perhaps you discovered Eric in the first place by running across these notes....) You should use the analytical methods described in these notes to actually design your bearing--the finite element analysis can then be used for design verification and fine tuning.
